Favelas are informal settlements commonly found outside Brazilian cities. This community may be very dirty, but it is full of life and hope, and deserves our attention and support. Let’s open our hearts and minds to the people and cultures that make our world rich and diverse.
As they stand there, in the raw reality of the favelas, silently observing the world, they are a testament to the power of resilience, perseverance, and the unbreakable bond between a boy and his best friend.
